Canada Goose is well known for its extreme temperature parkas and jackets. Since the turn of the century, they have gone one step beyond by not only designing the best of the best winter jackets, but by becoming a fashion trend brand when November comes around the corner.

In 2010, the Hybridge collection made its debut as a sidekick to light-weight jackets. Light-weight jackets are perfect for mountain hikes and keep you cozy during a campfire in cold areas which are not particularly extremely cold. In colder areas, like high-altitude mountains, a parka or mountain jacket would be more suitable, and the Hybridge becomes the best mid-layer jacket adding less than half a pound of weight.

But when it comes to high-performing sports like skiing and snowboarding, there is no better choice than a Hybridge jacket.

A modern style with top-notch insulation characteristics and body heat conservation capacities. Thermal Mapping technology with Hutterite Down shields warm specific areas of your body which are key to keep you not only warm and shielded from the elements, but comfortable from cold or extra body warm-up. What thermal mapping does is that it keeps your body core warm by evenly distributing heat around the body, avoiding the use of extra layers.

Body temperature regulation is one thing, freedom of movement another. Extreme winter sports demand a flexible mobility, and traditional winter jackets are just too cushioned. The Hybridge features Polartec expandable fabric that allow arm movement without displacing the body area of the jacket.

The Hybridge jacket is designed to be worn in areas with temperatures ranging from 5° to -5°degrees. Basically any place with under one digit below zero is OK for the Hybridge.

This is not a jacket to climb the high-range Mountains, climb the Everest or to keep you warm on a mountain cabin. Canada Goose offers a wide range of other collections for mountaineers and arctic enthusiasts. The Hybridge was specifically designed for winter sports (maybe not Alaskan dogsledding).

Off course, the jacket is also perfect just to wear around, as long as it is in between minus 1 degree temperatures.

The basic collection comes in three different styles:

As with all of its various collections, Canada Goose has a female version of the Hybridge with all of its three styles. There is only a slight variation on the external appeariance design with a slimmer figure that adapts well to female curves.

There is also a Hybridge skirt which is a standard garment for ski enthusiasts. The Hybridge skirt comes with the same Thermal Mapping Technology as the jacket.

The Hybridge collection is the standard thermal mapping jacket. The Lite Hybridge Collection is a slimmer and lighter version of the jacket and hoody, which translates into a more flexible and comfortable jacket, but this means less warmth.

It all depends where you plan to wear the jacket. In my opinion, the Lite version works more like a cold weather jacket and not like a winter jacket. Or at least it is a mid-point between both styles. I guess you just have to try it out before deciding which is best for you.
